
Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat atau SOTH merupakan salah satu strategi BKKBN untuk menanggulangi stunting dimana tujuan utamanya adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan orang tua dalam mengasuh anak, terutama anak balita. SOTH diselenggarakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan orang tua dalam pengasuhan. Hal ini guna mengoptimalkan tumbuh kembang dan karakter positif anak.
Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat atau SOTH sangat penting dan bermanfaat untuk ibu-ibu milenial yang memiliki balita, karena pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengasuh anak harus dipelajari untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengasuhan. Para orang tua hebat yang telah mengikuti SOTH diharapkan bisa menjadi pionir atau role model bagi orang tua lain di wilayah masing-masing. Sebab kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat adalah kunci utama dalam upaya mencegah dan mengatasi stunting sehingga dapat terbentuk anak-anak yang sehat dan berkualitas.
Layaknya sekolah pada umumnya, SOTH diisi materi pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan secara bertahap, tertata, dan terukur disertai pre test dan post test. SOTH juga memiliki syarat kelulusan, salah satunya dari kehadiran.
materi yang di sajikan pula cukup menarik dimana para peserta diberikan materi tentang Perencanaan hidup berkeluarga, Memahami konsep diri yang positif dan konsep pengasuhan, Peran orang tua dan keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan, Menjaga kesehatan anak usia dini, dan Pemenuhan gizi anak usia dini.
Dengan didampingi Kepala Desa Sidoharjo, Ketua PKK Kecamatan Gedeg, Petugas Lapangan Keluarga Berencana, Ketua PKK Desa Sidoharjo melalui program SOTH ini Pemerintah Desa Sidoharjo Kecamatan Gedeg Kabupaten mojokerto pada tahun 2024 ini dapat meluluskan puluhan peserta yang langsung diwisuda langsung oleh Bapak Plt. Camat Gedeg.
Setelah mengikuti SOTH, peserta diharapkan banyak melakukan perubahan pola asuh di keluarganya. Tidak hanya kepada anaknya, tetapi cara berkomunikasi dan bersikap kepada suaminya pun ada perubahan yang lebih baik.
Menurut Nita Wahyu Salah satu Peserta SOTH menyampaikan bawasannya kegiatan semacam ini sangatlah penting dimana sebagai orang tua dapat pengetahuan yang lebih tentang cara mendidik anak kami menjadi lebih sehat guna mempersiapkan para pemimpin dimasa yang akan datang.
